Dear Pastor and Ministry Leader,

Grace and peace to you.

About Elder Mark Hoke
Building Leaders. Strengthening Churches. Establishing Legacy.

Elder Mark Hoke is a teacher, author, mentor, and leadership developer committed to strengthening the Church through biblical clarity, character formation, and structured leadership development.

For decades, he has served faithfully in ministry, investing in believers, training ministers, teaching Sunday school, preaching, mentoring young men, and equipping churches with practical systems for growth and stability.

His calling is clear:

Build spiritually grounded believers.
 Develop disciplined leaders.
 Establish churches that outlast personalities.

A Ministry Rooted in Biblical Depth

Elder Hoke’s teaching emphasizes:

  • The Oneness of God
  • The New Birth experience
  • Biblical salvation
  • Spiritual discipline
  • Mentorship and accountability
  • Generational leadership transfer

His approach is not motivational—it is structural.

He believes churches do not weaken because of lack of talent, but because of lack of intentional leadership development and character formation.

A Strategic Vision for the Church

Elder Hoke is the author of several leadership and doctrinal works, including:

I am honored to present a collection of five biblically grounded resources through Operation: Close the Back Door™ designed to strengthen churches, equip leaders, and build spiritually stable generations: God’s Cosmic Chess Game of Life, Understanding New Birth, Rooted and Raising, Building Men and Women of Character, and Roadmap to Ministerial Development. Each book addresses a vital area of spiritual growth and church development, forming a unified framework for discipleship and leadership.

  • God’s Cosmic Chess Game of Life presents Scripture through the metaphor of a divine strategy unfolding across history. Drawing from the Bible, this work illustrates the spiritual battle between the Kingdom of God and the forces of darkness, revealing how obedience, discernment, and faith position believers for victory. It challenges readers to understand their role in God’s sovereign plan and to move intentionally rather than reactively in spiritual warfare.
  • Understanding New Birth provides a clear and thorough explanation of biblical salvation. Anchored in the teachings of Peter the Apostle and Paul the Apostle, it carefully outlines repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. This book serves as a foundational discipleship tool for new converts and a doctrinal reinforcement resource for established believers.
  • Rooted and Raising focuses on generational discipleship. It emphasizes that before we can raise strong children and future leaders, we must first be deeply rooted in truth, prayer, and spiritual maturity. It equips parents, mentors, and churches to intentionally cultivate identity, stability, and biblical conviction in the next generation.
  • Building Men and Women of Character addresses the urgent need for integrity in both private and public life. Using biblical examples such as Joseph and Daniel, it highlights how character sustains calling. This resource supports mentorship programs and leadership development by focusing on discipline, accountability, emotional maturity, and godly conduct.
  • Finally, Roadmap to Ministerial Development offers a structured pathway for identifying and training emerging leaders. Inspired by the mentorship model of Paul the Apostle and Timothy, it outlines spiritual formation, doctrinal stability, leadership competencies, and accountability systems necessary for long-term ministry effectiveness.
  • Together, these works provide a comprehensive strategy for salvation, discipleship, character formation, generational strength, and ministerial preparation. My prayer is that these resources will serve as practical tools to help your church cultivate rooted believers, mature leaders, and lasting spiritual legacy. With sincere respect and commitment to truth,

Each resource is designed to move believers from inspiration to implementation.

Building Men and Women of Character: Developing Your Pieces

In God’s Chess Game of Life, undeveloped pieces remain trapped in their starting positions, unable to fulfill their strategic potential. Character development is God’s method of moving each believer from their initial square into positions of maximum kingdom effectiveness.

From Potential to Power Every chess piece begins with inherent abilities, but those abilities mean nothing until properly developed. A bishop stuck behind pawns cannot influence the diagonal. A knight hemmed in by its own pieces cannot reach its target squares. Similarly, believers possess God-given gifts and callings, but without character development, these remain dormant potential rather than active power.

Strategic Positioning Through Trials Master chess players develop pieces through calculated moves that may initially seem difficult or uncomfortable. God uses a similar strategy in our lives. Financial pressures teach stewardship. Relationship conflicts develop patience and forgiveness. Leadership challenges build humility and wisdom. Each trial is a strategic move designed to position your character for greater kingdom impact.

Coordinated Development In chess, pieces are developed in coordination with each other, not in isolation. Character building happens best within Christian community. Iron sharpens iron as believers challenge each other toward holiness, accountability partners provide strategic support, and mentors guide younger believers through developmental moves they’ve already mastered.

Maximum Board Control Well-developed pieces control more squares, influence more territory, and create more opportunities for strategic advancement. Believers with mature character possess greater spiritual authority, influence wider spheres for God’s glory, and open doors that remain closed to undeveloped Christians.

The Ultimate Goal Character development isn’t about perfection—it’s about positioning. God isn’t trying to make you flawless; He’s strategically moving you into a position where your unique combination of gifts, experiences, and character can deliver maximum impact for His kingdom.

Strong character equals strong position. Strong position equals kingdom influence.
